Eradicate them using pesticides are effective, but this should not be an option if the ants near your food. Furthermore, this did not solve the root problem.

There are several ways you can do to eradicate the ants, but the important thing is to know where they come so that you can prevent them enter your house again.

Prevent them coming

If there are holes or gaps that allow the ants to come in, immediately plug the fissures. Tree branches that hung down to touch the wall of the house should also be trimmed. Thus you do not give the ants a chance to reach your home.

Spread the cinnamon, cayenne pepper, or clove, where a convoy of moving ants usually comes in can also prevent them from entering the house. Other materials that you can use, among others are bayleaf, mint, or peppermint scent of tea bags.

Make them hungry

Ants can carry out the smallest crumb of food, or water droplets. But if they cannot find anything to eat, they would not come.

Therefore, store the food into a sealed box of food. Wash and dry your cutlery immediately after use. If you have not had time to wash dishes and just left it on the kitchen sink, soak the dishes with soapy water. Drain rack or kitchen table carefully, and make sure no water is still dripping faucet. Immediately dispose of wastes that are filling the trash bin.

Keep them out of your house

If there is one area that was surrounded ants, you can try to drive them out by spraying a liquid which is a mixture of one teaspoon of liquid soap and water. Enter the liquid into a 1 liter spray bottle. This fluid will drown the ants and destroy all chemical traces left by worker ants. Thus, this will prevent more ants entering your home.

You can also make “ant traps” from a mixture of borax, sugar, and water. Be careful, do not let this material ingested by children or other pets. Another way is to sprinkle corn meal around the ant holes or ant impressions, because they cannot properly digest corn flour.

Still fail as well? Try to find the nest, and destroy their colonies. Pour honey or syrup onto cardboard trail of ants, and then draw near to its nest. If the nest is outside, pour a bowl of hot water or more on top.
